What this directory is

Persians Home is a map-based directory of businesses, community events, and property listings connected to the Persian and Iranian diaspora. Every entry is a point on an interactive map, so the question the site answers is a geographic one: what is near me, or near the city I am moving to, or near the family I am visiting.

It is worldwide by design rather than by ambition. The diaspora is not concentrated in one country, and a directory that only covered Los Angeles or only covered Toronto would be useless to most of the people it is meant to serve. Listings run across North America, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East outside Iran — wherever Persian communities have settled and opened businesses.

The site is bilingual. Categories, business names, and descriptions are largely in Farsi, written right-to-left; the navigation, policies, and pages like this one are in English. Most readers use both.

Who publishes it

Persians Home is published from Los Angeles, California. It is an independent directory and advertising platform: it is not a marketplace, does not take payment on behalf of any listed business, and is not a broker or agent for any property shown here. Business owners buy listing and advertising plans from us directly; that is how the site is funded. The full arrangement is set out in our Terms of Service.

Why there are no listings inside Iran

This is a diaspora directory, and businesses, events, and properties physically located in Iran are deliberately excluded from it. That exclusion is enforced in the software, not left to editorial judgement: every listing is checked on country, dialling code, phone numbers, web domain, address, and geographic coordinates, and refused if it resolves to Iran.

Reading the site is a different matter, and is open to everyone everywhere. Nothing on these pages changes according to where the visitor is; the exclusion applies to where a listed business is, not to who is allowed to look at it.

Where the listing data comes from

There are two sources, and it is worth being plain about the second one.

Owners and organisers submit listings themselves. Anyone can create an account and add a business, an event, or a property. A basic listing is free; paid plans add photos, opening hours, extra phone numbers, and social links. The step-by-step guide walks through the whole process in Farsi and English.

We also collect business information already published openly. A directory that starts empty helps nobody, so alongside submitted listings we gather business details from sources that are already public — Persian community directories, chamber of commerce and professional association membership lists, community magazines, and event listing sites. For each listing collected this way we keep a record of which source it came from and when, and we will tell the business which source it was if they ask. This is described in section 1.1 of our Privacy Policy.

What we do not do is invent anything. There are no ratings or reviews on this site, no estimated opening hours, and no price ranges we have guessed at. Where a field is unknown, it is left empty rather than filled in — which is why many listings show only a name, a category, and a location.

What we do not verify

We are a directory, not an inspector. We do not independently verify business names, addresses, phone numbers, opening hours, event dates, asking prices, or whether a person listing a property is authorised to advertise it. Map pins can be approximate, and any detail on a listing can be out of date. Please confirm details with the business, organiser, or advertiser before travelling or making a decision. The limits of what we take responsibility for are set out in sections 8.1 and 8.2 of the Terms of Service.

Advertising is separate from accuracy. Businesses can pay for promoted placement, which moves a listing higher in the results and marks it as sponsored. It buys prominence; it does not buy a claim that the listing is correct, and it is not a condition of appearing on the map.

If this is your business: claiming and correcting

If your business is already on the map and you did not put it there, it is yours to take over. Write to us at info@persianshome.com or use the contact form and choose Add or claim a business listing — or Report incorrect or outdated information if something is simply wrong. Tell us the business name and, if you have it, a link to the listing. We will confirm that you are connected to the business before we hand over or change anything, which protects you as much as it protects us.

Once a listing is yours you can edit it from your dashboard, add the details it does not yet carry, and decide whether to stay on the free tier or advertise.

Removing a listing

You can have your listing removed, and the process is deliberately free of obstacles. You do not need an account, you do not need to claim the listing first, and you will never be asked to buy anything as a condition of removal.

Email info@persianshome.com with the subject line "Listing Removal Request", or use the contact form with the topic Remove my listing or my data. Tell us the business name, whether you want the listing corrected or removed entirely, and whether you also want us to stop contacting the business about Persians Home. We will confirm your connection to the business, action the request within 30 days, and write back to tell you it is done. Section 9.2 of the Privacy Policy spells this out in full, along with the other rights you have over your data.
