Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: name, email, password (stored hashed), and role.
• Business listing information (for business customers): business name, category, address, phone, country code, website/social links, descriptions, hours, images, plan/tier, claim status.
• Event information (for organizers): title, description, dates/times, venue address, phone/country code, website/social links, images, tags, capacity/price.
• Property information (for property advertisers): listing type (for rent or for sale), category, price, address, phone/country code, website/social links, description, images, and the availability or open-house details you provide.
• Usage and device information: IP address, device/browser type, timestamps, language, pages viewed, approximate geolocation inferred from IP; anonymized/aggregated analytics.
• Location and maps: we use mapping providers to render maps and locations; your approximate location may be used to show nearby results.
• Payments: payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers or CVC. Stripe provides us limited payment metadata (status, last4, brand) necessary for records and support.
• Communications: support messages and notices we send (service, billing, updates).
• Cookies and similar technologies for sessions, preferences, performance, and fraud prevention.

1.1. Business Information Collected from Public Sources

Not every listing on Persians Home was submitted by its owner. So that the directory is useful to the community from the start, we also collect business information that has already been published openly — on Persian community directories, chamber of commerce and professional association membership lists, community magazines, and event listing sites. A business collected this way has a page on our map that its owner can claim, correct, or ask us to remove.

For those listings we may hold:

• Business name, category, address, phone number, email address, website and social links, opening hours, and description.
• The name of the owner or practitioner, where the business is published under a person's own name — as is common for doctors, dentists, lawyers, realtors and other sole practitioners.
• A record of which public source each listing came from and when we collected it.

We collect business contact details, not private personal information, and only for businesses outside Iran. Where this information identifies a person, we process it on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a Persian community directory, balanced against that person's interests — and all of the rights in section 9 apply to it in full, whether or not they hold an account with us.

Contacting businesses: we may use published business contact details to reach a business by email, telephone or post about listing or claiming its entry. Where we send such email it identifies us, gives our postal address, and carries a way to opt out; we honour an opt-out immediately and permanently, across email and telephone alike. In Germany and Austria, whose law requires prior consent for unsolicited business email, we do not send it at all and use the telephone or post instead. You can stop this contact at any time by writing to info@persianshome.com.

2. How We Use Information

• Provide, operate, and secure the Service.
• Create and manage accounts; publish the business, event, and property listings you submit.
• Process payments and subscriptions; detect and prevent fraud/abuse.
• Customer support and communications.
• Improve the Service and develop new features.
• Comply with legal, tax, and enforcement obligations.

3. Legal Bases (where applicable)

We rely on contract (to provide the Service you request), legitimate interests (security, improvements, non-intrusive analytics), consent (where required, e.g., certain cookies/marketing), and legal obligation (compliance with law and recordkeeping).

4. Sharing of Information

We share information with service providers acting on our behalf (e.g., hosting, analytics, email, Stripe for payments, mapping providers) under contracts that require appropriate safeguards; with authorities where required by law or to protect rights/safety; and in connection with business transfers subject to this Policy.

5. Sanctions and International Restrictions

We do not list businesses, events, or properties located in Iran, and we do not knowingly onboard or accept payments from persons or entities in Iran or other sanctioned jurisdictions.

• Our directory is built for the Persian diaspora. Businesses, events, and properties physically located in Iran are excluded from it. Listings we collect from public sources are screened on country, dialling code, web domain, address, and geographic coordinates; listings submitted to us directly are checked on the country and phone number given, and refused if they are Iranian.
• Payments are processed by Stripe, which applies its own sanctions and fraud screening to every transaction.
• Our Terms of Service prohibit use of the Service from sanctioned jurisdictions, and we act on violations we become aware of.

6. Retention

We retain account, listing, and payment records for as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal/tax/fraud obligations. You may request deletion; some records may be retained as required by law.

7. Payment Data and No-Refund Policy

Payment information is processed by Stripe and subject to their privacy policy. We retain payment records indefinitely as required for our no-refund policy and legal compliance. All payments are final and non-refundable as stated in section 3 of our Terms of Service.

7.1. Information Accuracy Disclaimer

IMPORTANT: We collect and display information provided by users, but we do not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or truthfulness of any information displayed on our platform. All business, event, and property listings, contact information, addresses, prices, and other data are provided by users and third parties.

• We are not responsible for any false, misleading, or inaccurate information that may be displayed on our maps, directory, or application.
• Users should verify all information directly with the business, organizer, or property advertiser before making decisions or visiting locations.
• We disclaim all liability for any consequences arising from reliance on inaccurate or false information displayed on our platform.

8. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures (TLS, hardened infrastructure, access controls). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object, port data, or withdraw consent. California residents (CCPA/CPRA) also have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale/sharing (we do not sell personal information). Submit requests to info@persianshome.com.

9.1. Data Deletion Instructions

Users have the right to request the deletion of their personal data collected and stored by PersiansHome.com. If you wish to delete your account or request removal of any personal data associated with your use of our services (including data obtained through Facebook Login, Google Login, or Apple Login), please follow the steps below:

How to Request Deletion

• Send an email to info@persianshome.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request".
• Please include:
  • Your full name
  • The email address associated with your account
  • A clear statement requesting deletion of your personal data
  • Any specific data you want deleted (if applicable)

Email is currently the only way to request deletion — there is no self-service delete option in your account settings. We action the request for you, and once processed your personal data is permanently removed from our systems, except where retention is required by law.

Processing Your Request

• Verification: Upon receiving a valid deletion request, we will verify your identity before processing to protect your privacy and security.
• Processing time: We will complete the deletion process within 30 days of verification, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable laws or regulations.

What will be deleted:

• Your user account information (name, email, password)
• Your business, event, and property listings (if you created any)
• Your profile data and preferences
• Usage and analytics data associated with your account

What may be retained:

• Payment records: We retain payment transaction records as required by law, tax regulations, and our no-refund policy. These records may include transaction amounts, dates, and payment method information (last 4 digits of card, brand) but not full card numbers or CVC codes.
• Legal compliance: We may retain certain information if required by law, court order, or to protect our legal rights.
• Anonymized data: Aggregated or anonymized data that cannot identify you may be retained for analytics and service improvement purposes.

Third-party data: If you signed in using Facebook, Google, or Apple OAuth, you may also need to request data deletion from those providers separately. We can delete the data we store from your OAuth account, but you should also check the privacy settings of those providers.

9.2. Removing a Listing You Did Not Create

If your business appears on Persians Home and you did not submit it, you can have it corrected or removed. You do not need an account, and you do not need to claim the listing first.

Email info@persianshome.com with the subject line "Listing Removal Request" and tell us:

• The business name, and a link to the listing if you have it
• Whether you want the listing corrected, removed from the directory, or both
• Whether you also want us to stop contacting the business about Persians Home
• Where we got the information, if you would like to know — we will tell you which public source it came from

We will confirm that you are connected to the business, action the request within 30 days, and write back to tell you it is done. A removal request is free, and we will not ask you to buy anything as a condition of honouring it.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit information for children under 13.

11. Third-Party Services

Our site may link to third-party sites or integrate third-party services (e.g., maps, payments). Their privacy practices govern their handling of data.

12. Changes

We may update this Policy; the updated date will appear above. Material changes will be notified where appropriate.
